July 22, 2010 - Pine Lake Pike
Took the family fishing this past weekend. Realistically with all the kids wanting in the boat, it was more boating with some lines in the water.
I took advantage of every minute searching for and site-fishing for Pike. It was crazy hot and the Pike were suspended and sun-bathing in the weedbeds.
With my eight weight and some new dry line I was able to cast out some chunky, home-tied flies (red and white) in front of them. With some subtle pulses and twiches I caught a couple of nice ones including a legal 28 inch six pounder fit for dinner.
