Wolf Creek Fry Release

I took in the fantastic Wolf Creek Fry Release earlier today. What a great event sponsored by the Yukon Fish and Game Association and the Yukon Energy Corporation since 1985.
In addition to the incredible conservation messages, what a great way for kids to get there hands on some wriggly little fry and dump them into the Wolf Creek. Interest in this event has been growing so much that it was packed full with little mini-conservationists. My two and four year olds have been going for as long as they could walk and dump fish into the water. They even had cake, hot chocolate and hot dogs.
They released about 6,000 fry and have to individually cut off the adipose fin and tag each one of them.
Good work all YFGA volunteers and Yukon Energy Coorporation! Looking forward to the Fish Ladder where I can see them come back home.
