Hi Dennis:
Here is some info. on our fishing trip to Tatchun Creek.
Fishing along the Yukon River with 100 people was interesting, you would get a hit just to find out that the guy downstream and you had caught each other made for a good few laughs.
My oldest son Alex enjoyed the trip, instead of catching salmon he caught bottom and other lines. He had good humour about it. Whenever he caught bottom he said “Mom I’ve got another rock fish”.
Very few people were catching salmon. We saw four come out of the river while we were fishing. My husband managed to hook one salmon but lost it when lines got tangled. The chances you take when there are more fisherman than fish.
Thanks, Carrie
Dennis here…thanks Carrie for your photos and report. Tatchun Creek is an area of significance for Yukon River Chinoook Salmon and thus has special regulations. I have attached another photo from the Moose Creek Lodge website
