Hey Dennis -
Thought I’d pass on that a friend and I went to Snafu last weekend, and the bite in on. Pike are generally where you’d expect to find ‘em, and hitting big red/chartreuse/white streamers stripped fast. It was a great day! I’ve attached a couple pics.
cheers, Bruce
Dennis here…thanks Bruce for your post and pics. I’ll throw on a few extra tips on effective Pike flies that I once read in Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine
They must be lively in water.
They should pulse and/or dip seductively and should work well when moved slowly.
They must be durable.
They should be easy and quick to tie, from readily available and, preferably inexpensive materials.
They should easily adapt to some form of shock tippet (either wire or heavy monofilament).
Bruce, the first picture is skookum. Good work getting that chartreuse fly in there. I have to get out to Little Atlin for some pike very soon. Good Work!
