Hi Everyone,

Well, we are having great weather - clear blue skies and lots of sunshine and 24 hours of daylight.

Fishing is good and for lake trout the darker coloured spoons and jigs are working well in 20-60 feet of water with sizes being 10-30 pounds!

Pike fishing is great using floating plugs like zora spooks. Basically the pike will take anything that moves and makes a disturbance on the surface. Spoons are also working well especially the bright coloured ones - red, green, and yellow. The pixee spoons are also working well.

Some boats have been catching 40-60 fish in the evenings with the largest pike being 45 inches.

We have had guests from Alberta, Wyoming, and Colorado and they are finding it hard to get accustomed to the 24 hours of daylight - they don’t know when to go to bed!

With the warm weather the best fishing is in the mornings and evenings. We have our first forest fire about 40 miles west of the lodge and from this we are getting some incredible sunsets. The fireweed is all in bloom around the lodge and it won’t be long before we get our first frost.

There has been lots of wildlife around the lake - moose, bears and eagles with the best viewing being in the evenings.

We are half way through our season and it has gone by far too fast. There are still some opening in August - just call the office (1-888-488-0201) for the dates that are available.

For those of you who are coming this season - See you soon.

Brian
