Hidden Lakes Rainbow Report June 08

Took off late Thursday night after putting the kids to bed, could not pass up the great light and warmth. I love this lake.

I usually troll leeches or chironomid patterns (i.e. snow cone). My fishing buddy Derek and I hit the water just in time to see a guy pull in a nice football size Rainbow. He was nice enough to give us a couple of his flies, ugly leech patterns with green. He called them ugly. Long story short, kicked the lake through the narrows past midnight and not a bite.

Tried my new scotty fly rod holder on my belly-boat. Highly recommend it. I rigged it with a dry fly rod as my second rod, just in case, but nothing was rising (I only put one rod in the water at once). Beautiful light though with a nearly full moon. Couple of huge beavers in the narrows as well.
